On March 14, 2011 prof.dr. Petrus C. van Duyne retired as a professor on the chair for Empirical Penal Science at Tilburg University. The Department of Criminal Law and the members of the editorial board of the Cross-Border Crime Colloquium felt the need to seize Petrus? emeritus status as an opportunity to put their appreciation under words for Petrus? contribution to science, in particular to the field of criminal law and criminology. This volume contains 18 interesting contributions of authors who all have a personal and professional relation with Petrus C. van Duyne. The contributions represent to a large extent the various important fields of Petrus? work.

About CCC

The Cross-Border Crime Colloquium is an annual event since 1999. It brings together experts on international organised (economic) crime to discuss the latest developments in empirical research, legislation and law enforcement, with a special geographical focus on Western, Central, and Eastern Europe. The Colloquia aim at building bridges in three respects: between East and West Europe, between scholars and practitioners, and between old and young.
